Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how whois-secure.com ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by Atlas Trading Collective LLC, collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit or use our website at whois-secure.com (the "Site").

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Newsletter Subscription: When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. We use a double opt-in process — you must confirm your subscription via email before we send you any newsletters.
  • Listing Submissions: When you submit a cybersecurity tool or service for inclusion in our directory, we collect the tool name, website URL, description, suggested category, and optionally your name and email address.
  • Contact Information: When you contact us through our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message content.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: We collect anonymized analytics data including pages visited, referring URLs, browser type, and general interaction patterns. This helps us understand how visitors use the Site and improve our content.
  • Click Tracking: When you click on external links to listed cybersecurity tools, we record the click event along with the referring page and browser type. We do not store your IP address in plaintext — we use a one-way hash for aggregate analytics only.
  • Cookies: We use essential cookies to maintain session state (e.g., admin login sessions). We do not use tracking cookies for our own purposes, but third-party services we integrate may set their own cookies (see Section 4).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To operate and improve the Site: Understanding usage patterns helps us make the directory more useful for cybersecurity professionals.
  • To send newsletters: If you have confirmed your subscription, we send monthly cybersecurity trend digests and curated content. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.
  • To process submissions: We review tool and service submissions for inclusion in the directory.
  • To respond to inquiries: We use your contact information to reply to questions or feedback you send us.
  • To maintain security: We use rate limiting and session management to protect the Site from abuse.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We use Resend for email delivery (newsletters and confirmation emails). Your email address is shared with Resend solely for the purpose of delivering emails you have opted into. See Resend's Privacy Policy.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

4. Third-Party Services

Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on the Site. Google may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. For more information, see how Google uses data when you use our partners' sites.

Google Fonts

We use Google Fonts to serve typefaces. When you load a page, your browser connects to Google's servers to download font files. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.

5. Data Retention

  • Newsletter subscribers: We retain your email address and subscription status until you unsubscribe. After unsubscribing, we retain a record that you unsubscribed to prevent re-subscribing you accidentally.
  • Listing submissions: We retain submission data indefinitely for directory management purposes.
  • Analytics data: Click events and view counts are retained indefinitely in aggregate form.
  • Contact messages: We retain contact form submissions for up to 2 years.

6. Your Rights and Choices

  • Unsubscribe: Every newsletter email contains an unsubscribe link. You can also contact us to be removed from our mailing list.
  • Access and Deletion: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or request that we delete it, by contacting us at the address below.
  • Cookie Controls: You can configure your browser to reject cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. Note that some features of the Site may not function properly without cookies.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
  • Password hashing for administrative accounts
  • Rate limiting on API endpoints to prevent abuse
  • Input validation and sanitization to protect against injection attacks

No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
